What to expect

Prior to appointment

You will need to complete an online consultation form to ensure it is safe to carry out your massage & tailor your treatment plan to your needs. This will be sent via email following your booking.

We may contact you via email or phone to gain more insight into your condition or dysfunction if needed.

On the day

  • Stay hydrated throughout the day of your appointment to enhance treatment outcome.

  • Don't eat a heavy meal 3 hours prior to treatment.

  • Wear comfortable clothes to the appointment.

  • Please wash prior to treatment.

  • Please let us know with as much notice as possible if you are unable to make the appointment or you may be charged!

Techniques used

Effleurage, petrisssage, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, compressions, soft tissue release, connective tissue release, active and passive stretching, tapotement, rocking & other manual therapies as required.

Post treatment advise

  • Drink plenty of water for up to 24 hours prior to maximise treatment outcomes.

  • Contra-actions- It is normal to feel a little light headed, unwell, emotional or congested after massage due to nervous system responding to treatment.

  • Use of magnesium salts or creams, heat or cryotherapy may be recommended following treatment (not suitable for pregnancy clients)

  • You may feel a little sore for 48-72 hours following treatment as your muscles may have been worked intensely (similar to the feeling of a heavy workout).

Clothing will remain on for some techniques. However, where removal is needed towel draping will be used to preserve client modesty.
